Today education is not a luxury, but a right to all children irrespective of their background. It is not a job, but a mission to be accomplished in gratitude listening and accompanying the young. We the Salesians of Don Bosco following the Educational legacy left by out Holy Founder Don Bosco ventured into formal education in Andaman just a few years back. By God’s grace and the maternal intervention of the Blessed Mother this mission has been abundantly blessed.

We owe a debt of gratitude to the then Provincial of Chennai Province Fr. Jayapalan Raphael and his council members for their unflinching support at the initial stages. The trend continues with the present Provincial Fr. K.M. Jose and his collaborators.

Many Salesians have toiled in this mission over 22 years. The list is quite long; I would like to remember them all with gratitude and joy. Allow me to mention a few without offence to anyone Fr. Arul Raja, Fr. Patrick Alphonse, Fr. Joy Panckal, Fr. Charles Lobo and Fr. JesuManickam, who initiated the school ministry on 8th September, 2013. The hard work self-sacrifice of Fr. Deva Anbu has helped immensely the growth of Don Bosco School, Lalpahar.

I am proud to say that our children are a happy lot, and wish that they remain happy always as “Children of God” in the educative presence of the Salesians and the staff both teaching and non-teaching. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the supportive parents, the loveable children, the dedicated staff both teaching and non-teaching and the generous supporters. God bless you all.

Let us grow and glow in the Joy of the Lord!
